“Do you want something to eat?” The cabin had been stocked for Larry and Amy’s honeymoon. Grant followed Amy outside onto the veranda with its clear view of the crystal blue lake.

She shook her head. “No, I’m still full from lunch. What a beautiful view.”

Amy had been quiet on the long drive. Grant had given her space. Now he went to her and rested his hands on her shoulders, rubbing gently at the tight muscles. “Changing your mind?” he asked.

She sighed. “I should. This is crazy. I barely know you, and you don’t know me either.”

“Not true. We’ve seen each other at a few family gatherings,” Grant said. And he’d been drawn to her from that first summer party thrown by his stepmother. He decided not to mention the fact that, as head of the family business, he’d also done a thorough check on Amy and everything he’d learned had both impressed him, and strengthened his own attraction to her.

“That’s not the same as knowing a person, really knowing them,” Amy argued.

“True. But this also makes it easier to keep the emotional entanglements out of the picture.” Grant slid his arm around her shoulders. “Besides, I know a lot about you just from last night.” He wagged his brows. “Like those low, throaty sounds you make right before you come.” He was pleased when she rolled her eyes and smacked him.

“Perv,” she said, smiling. She wrinkled her nose at him. “I don’t even know what to expect for the next two weeks. Are you going to boss me around from sunup to sundown? Do I have to do whatever you say, whenever you say?” She narrowed her eyes. “I’m not wearing a collar!” She sighed. “I’m not so good with being bossed around or treated like a mindless slave.”

Grant rocked back on his heels. “There are Dom/sub relationships that are 24/7. Some subs give over all control of their lives to their Doms. Some relationships don’t include sex. Some, like ours, are more of a sexual nature. I’m don’t want a mindless sub. I want someone I can be myself with, and someone with enough intellect to carry on a stimulating conversation…when we’re not otherwise engaged.” Grant grinned, reached out, and pulled Amy close, drawing her scent deep into his lungs. “Our relationship will be what works for the two of us.” His hands slid down to the gentle swell of her ass. “Relax. Right now, we’re just two people embarking on a shared journey.”

“Okay, as long as this journey includes lots of sex,” Amy said.

He chuckled and gave her a smack. “I think I created a monster! Let’s go for a walk.” He led the way to the end of the wide veranda with its clear view of the crystal blue lake. They walked together down the stairs. Grant had the perfect spot in mind to start their Dom/sub journey.
